An 8-year-old boy has been st@bbed at a primary school, forcing the campus into lockdown.
An 11-year-old boy is being questioned over the incident, which reportedly happened at Brentwood Park Primary School in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday morning, Nov. 27, before the school bell rang.
Victoria Police said the victim and a staff member, who also suffered minor injuries, were treated by paramedics on school grounds and did not need hospital treatment.
The boy, believed to be in Year 6, allegedly attacked a teacher before also assaulting a Year 2 pupil and Year 3 pupil.
Two other kitchen knives were also allegedly found in his bag.
Police spoke to the child suspect before he was taken to hospital for assessment.
An education department spokesperson said it was working with the school following an incident involving a young student who acted in a “dangerous manner”.
