The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to the violent attack on Fuji musician Obesere in Okitipupa.
The singer and his crew were attacked on Friday after performing at a burial ceremony in Okitipupa, where some of his personal items were reportedly stolen, according to Vanguard.
Reacting to the incident, the chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Soga Andrew Ogunsakin, issued a statement condemning the assault.
Ogunsakin said three suspects have already been arrested, adding that some of the stolen items have been recovered as police continue tracking others involved.
“Upon receiving the report on the unfortunate incident involving Obesere, I immediately swung into action to ensure accountability and restore calm. I’m pleased to inform the public that three suspects connected to the disturbance have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to track down other individuals involved. Some items said to have been stolen have also been successfully recovered.
“I have contacted Obesere’s management for a scheduled meeting. This will help me express deep concern over the incident,” he said.
