Gauteng police have arrested a 26-year-old woman in connection with the killings of a principal and an administrative assistant at Inxiweni Primary School in Tembisa, South Africa.
Police spokesperson Col Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed the arrest, saying the woman was taken into custody on Wednesday and is expected to appear in the Tembisa court on November 21, 2025.
The victims, principal Nozibele Tabu, 58, and admin assistant Nobantu Njomboni, 55, were preparing for a meeting when a gunman allegedly entered the administration block and shot them dead on Tuesday.
Nevhuhulwi said officers were called to the scene shortly after 4pm. “Upon arrival, they found two female bodies lying on the ground with gunshot wounds,” she said.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, with investigators still piecing together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Earlier, Sowetan reported that one of the victims’ families first learned of the tragedy through social media, adding to the distress surrounding the incident.
