Missing Bayero University Kano student found alive after four years

A missing Bayero University, Kano (BUK) student, Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, has been found alive in Kaduna State, four years after he disappeared.

Shafiu, who lived in the Janbulo area of Kano, vanished in 2021, prompting an intense and prolonged search by his family, friends, and members of the university community.

According to family sources, he was discovered in a village in Kaduna, where he had been staying with an Islamic cleric. The cleric reportedly told relatives that he took Shafiu in after finding him in a mentally unstable state years ago.

“He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who said he took him in years ago when he appeared mentally unstable,” a family member confirmed.

The family, relieved after years of uncertainty, has thanked God for his safe recovery. Shafiu has now been reunited with his loved ones and is said to be in stable condition.
