Boxer Gervonta Davis sued after allegedly chok!ng woman in violent incident

Boxing champion Gervonta Davis is facing new legal trouble after being sued by a woman who claims he assaulted and threatened her at a Miami strip club earlier this week.

The plaintiff, Courtney Rossel, filed the lawsuit Thursday, October 30, in Miami-Dade County, alleging that she and Davis had been in a private relationship for about five months, but during that time, he became physically and emotionally abusive.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Rossel said the boxer’s behavior escalated over time. On September 23, she claimed Davis accused her of infidelity and allegedly sent her a message saying, “I’ll kill you.”

Rossel alleged the most violent incident occurred on Monday, while she was working as a VIP cocktail waitress at the Tootsies Cabaret nightclub. Around 4:15 a.m., Davis allegedly found her in a VIP lounge, grabbed and dragged her through a stairway, the kitchen, and out a back entrance into the parking garage.

Once there, she claimed Davis choked, pushed, pulled, and struck her in the back of the head, leaving her “terrified, humiliated, and in pain” in front of coworkers and other staff.

Rossel further alleged that after the assault, Davis sent her another message reading, “I’m on my way! Yo ya house,” which she interpreted as a threat to continue the abuse.

The lawsuit accuses Davis of ongoing verbal, physical, and psychological abuse, stating that Rossel has required medical treatment, therapy, and daily assistance because she now lives in constant fear for her life. She is seeking unspecified damages.

A spokesperson for the Miami Gardens Police Department confirmed to TMZ Sports that Davis has been named as a suspect in a recently filed police report, though it’s unclear whether formal charges have been made.

Davis, who has faced previous domestic violence allegations from other women, has not publicly commented on the lawsuit. The 29-year-old fighter is currently scheduled to face Jake Paul in a highly anticipated match in Miami on November 14.
