Lagos police arrest serial commercial Taxi driver for multiple r@pe, ass@ult, and robbery cases

Police detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have successfully arrested one Adedayo Ben Adegbola, a commercial taxi driver, in connection with multiple cases of rape, defilement, assault, indecent assault, and armed robbery targeting female passengers across the state.
 

The suspect, whose picture appeared in viral online posts, was identified by several victims as the alleged perpetrator of the vicious crimes.
 

 

 

Following strict directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohunda Jimoh, the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, launched a detailed and discreet investigation into the horrific complaints.

This painstaking effort by the Police Joint Investigation teams led to the arrest of the “vicious and very notorious suspect” on October 31, 2025.

The police also recovered the vehicle used in committing the offenses: a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT. The car has been secured as an exhibit for prosecution.

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigation is intensified to apprehend any other individuals suspected to be involved in the crimes.
 

The Command urges any other victims of this vicious and notorious suspect to report immediately to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti. Victims are encouraged to provide relevant information and evidence to assist the ongoing investigation, with a firm assurance that their identities will be properly protected.
 

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, has reassured the public of the Command’s firm commitment to protecting all residents, ensuring justice for survivors, and maintaining security in Lagos State. Further updates on the investigation will be provided.
