Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tochukwu ‘Tochi’ Okechukwu has weighed in on the ongoing feud between entrepreneur Blord and activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over the iPhone 17 saga with a cryptic Instagram post.
Taking to his story, the ex-reality TV star didn’t hold back, pointing out what he sees as hypocrisy in the activist world. He wrote:
“You’re not an activist just because you’re stubborn. True activism takes discipline. Now that you’ve made a little money, suddenly the nation’s problems have turned into an obsession with the iPhone 17. Back when you were in your room, drinking pure water, you actually made sense.”
He went on to highlight the obsession with flashy lifestyles and material distractions:
“All these flashy phones and gadgets you’re flaunting. It’s all just noise. You’re not different from the rest of them — same game, same hypocrisy. You just want to sell your market.”
The timing of his commentary is notable, given the drama between VDM and Blord. From Blord marketing a modified iPhone XR as an iPhone 17 Pro Max, to VDM accusing him of overpricing and misleading sales, the saga has kept fans glued to their screens.
Although he didn’t mention any names, fans are speculating that the shade was aimed at VDM, given the context of the feud.
As the iPhone 17 feud continues to dominate social media, Tochi’s message is a reminder that true activism isn’t about flashy gadgets or online clout.
