Celebrated singer Tiwa Savage has revisited her long-standing rift with fellow artiste Seyi Shay, offering clarity on what truly transpired between them.
During an interview on Off Air with Gbemi O and Toolz uploaded on Saturday, the Somebody’s Son crooner opened up about the origins of the feud that once dominated social media conversations.

Tiwa explained that the misunderstanding began after a diss track was released, accompanied by claims that she had allegedly tried to block opportunities for other female artistes in the industry.
Tiwa Savage debunks being against female artists
The singer, however, stated that these allegations were false and hurtful, as they did not reflect her values or her attitude toward other women in music.
She said …
“If you do something to me, I will let you know. I don’t have to let you know online. Like the whole shade thing, I’m not going to pretend like you and I are cool in a salon when you did a diss track.”
According to Tiwa, she was taken aback when she first heard about the diss and the accusations that she was trying to “block bags” for her colleagues, including Seyi Shay and Victoria Kimani.
Tiwa Savage speaks on being pro-women
She noted that she has always believed in female empowerment and collaboration, emphasizing that she has supported many women both publicly and privately.
“That was painful, and I didn’t know where it was coming from. Till today, maybe I need to have a conversation with Shay.
“I heard that they thought I blocked their bag. How? If you’ve heard from anybody that I tried to block your bag, mention the person so I can address it.
I would never do that — I’m so pro-women,” Tiwa added.

She also recounted that, in contrast to the allegations, she had actually missed out on a major endorsement deal to Seyi Shay while she was pregnant with her son, Jamil.
“When I got pregnant and had Jamil, I was taken off a Pepsi campaign, Longer Throat, and Shay was booked on it.
“Go back and check it, Shay was a brand ambassador, I wasn’t.
“I was taken off because I couldn’t snap back in time. So how am I stopping other people’s bag? I wasn’t even mad. I got in the gym and got my body back,” she added.
