It’s not easy for us too – Solomon Buchi defend men amid Maraji’s pregnancy take

Life coach and social commentator Solomon Buchi recently sparked debate after skit maker Maraji responded to a man highlighting the struggles men face during their wife’s pregnancy.

In a video shared by Buchi, the man described sleepless nights, emotional strain, and the pressure of supporting his wife during pregnancy, saying women don’t go through pregnancy journey alone; men also do and shouldn’t be neglected.

Maraji countered, emphasizing that women endure the most, from sickness and hormonal changes to depression. “Why should anyone care about you,” she asked, “when you are supposed to support system to your wife?”

While her point is valid, Buchi defended the man, stressing that expectant fathers’ struggles matter. He said:

“The man didn’t make unfair comparisons, nor did he invalidate his wife’s journey through pregnancy and childbirth. He is highlighting an important point: men also have feelings too. The fact that he’s not carrying the child doesn’t mean he’s not doing something.”

He also emphasized:

“We need to understand the duality of the human experience, it’s possible for you to do what is rightly your obligation, and it also possible for it to tire you, or make you feel lonely. The constant anxiety, fear of losing a loved one will definitely make you sleepless.”

The conversation sparked reactions online, with people questioning if men should experience similar emotional challenges with women during pregnancy.

@solomon_buchi The feelings and struggles of expectant fathers definitely matter @maraji_ and I don’t think he made unfair comparisons neither did he invalidate his wife’s journey through pregnancy and childbirth, he’s saying something that we should all listen to — men go through the motions, and it can be a tough conversation because men already feel guilty for feeling any negative emotion because their wives are the ones carrying the main pain. This video wasn’t enough to talk about my experience — I did all the home chores for 9 months, moved houses, attended all the appointments, worked and still had to be strong. It’s as new an experience for men as much as it is for women and invalidating anyone’s pain because we feel ours deserve the center stage will not help intimacy. Again, this conversation should be handled with care because most men already find it hard to be expressive. #father #mother #solomonbuchi #family #creatorsearchinsights ♬ original sound – SolomonBuchi
