Three men have been k!lled by a mob in Emu Orakwan community, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State after being accused of kidnapping and murder.
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. on October 6, 2025 when hunters and farmers in the area sighted the men at Akabueze camp.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the suspects were said to be among those who allegedly murdered a woman identified as Mrs. Ogbonna on October 1.
The lifeless body of the mother of three was discovered in a nearby farm with multiple stab wounds, sparking outrage and vows of retribution from residents.
It was gathered that upon receiving the information, villagers and farmers mobilised and descended on the suspects, inflicting severe injuries on them before the arrival of security operatives.
“These animals have been terrorising us for months, kidnapping our women, demanding ransoms we can’t pay and now this,” a farmer said.
“When we saw them, we knew we couldn’t wait for the police anymore. They m8rdered Mrs. Ogbona in cold blood; no one was going to let them escape justice.”
Army troops accompanied by police personnel, moved swiftly to the scene and met the suspects at the point of d3ath.
They were immediately taken to the General Hospital, where they were confirmed d3ad.
Their remains have been deposited at Imiuwuguina Mortuary, while investigation into the incident is ongoing.
