Passengers had to be evacuated from a plane after a bomb threat at Brussels Airport.
The flight was scheduled to depart from Brussels to Berlin at around 9:30am on Wednesday, October 1, before the airport received an alert from federal police that there was a “potential threat” on board.
“The aircraft was scheduled to operate a flight to Berlin for Brussels Airlines,” said Brussels Airlines spokesperson Nico Cardone.
Following the warning, it was guided to a safe location on the tarmac, and all passengers and crew were evacuated.
Officers have now launched an investigation into the matter, as well as a thorough search of the plane.
“Everyone is safe, and our assistance team is assisting everyone. We are now cooperating with the investigation,” Cardone added.
According to another Brussels Airport spokesperson, there are currently no disruptions to other travellers.
“All services at Brussels Airport are currently operational,” Ihsane Chioua Lekhli said.
