Tragedy has struck award-winning Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe following the demise of her mother, Abisola Grace Owodunni.
The actress shared the news of her mother’s passing via a post on Instagram on September 24, 2025.

Abisola Grace Owodunmi’s Biography
During her lifetime, Abisola Grace Owodunni was a Nigerian businesswoman.
She managed a supermarket and was known for her strict yet loving parenting. Abisola is married and has had multiple marriages.
Her children include Mercy Aigbe and several other kids.
According to Mercy Aigbe, her mother taught her valuable life lessons, emphasizing the importance of sacrifice and selflessness. Mercy often expresses gratitude for her mother’s guidance and support.
This isn’t the first time tragedy has hit Mercy Aigbe.
It would be recalled that the actress’s house got razed by fire on December 3, 2024.
The actress shared a video of the damage on Instagram, expressing her gratitude that no lives were lost.
She wrote, “Devastated! Thank God no life was lost! It is well”.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire incident remains unknown.
The incident occurred ahead of the movie ‘Thin Line’, which premiered on December 10, 2024, in Lagos.
The event was a star-studded affair featuring notable Nollywood actors and actresses, including Iyabo Ojo and Uzor Arukwe, in attendance.
