Benjamin Fredrick came off the bench in FCV Dender EH’s 3-0 loss to KAA Gent in their recent Belgian league clash.
Goals from Wilfried Kanga and Abdelkahar Kadri secured a comfortable win for Gent, who were clearly the better side throughout the match.
Statistically, Gent’s dominance was evident they held 63% possession, took 15 shots with three on target, and completed 580 passes.
Meanwhile, Dender had 15 attempts, with four on target and registered 301 passes.
However, the superiority of the hosts didn’t stop Fredrick from showcasing his quality.
Entering the match in the 57th minute, the 20 year old put on a composed display.
He completed 94% of his passes, including two into the final third, and played two accurate long balls into the box. He also managed one shot on target and had two touches in the opposition box.
Defensively, Fredrick excelled completing 100% of his tackles, made one clearance, and had a key ball interception.
His physical presence was undeniable, winning 100% of his ground duels and 100% of his aerial duels a testament to his strength, and composure under pressure.
With consistent performances like this, Fredrick is on course to return to Brentford at the end of the season a more complete player one who is ready to fight for his place in the Premier League next season.
