Singer D4vd’s label Interscope pulls all promotion amid homicide investigation

Interscope Records has halted the rollout of D4vd’s upcoming deluxe album and suspended all promotional activities for the artist amid a police investigation into the killing of a teenager whose remains were discovered in a Tesla registered to him.

According to sources cited by TMZ, Interscope’s parent company, Universal Music Group, along with Sony Music Publishing and Wasserman, have paused support for the 19-year-old singer as Los Angeles police continue their inquiries. The decision comes just days before the scheduled release of the deluxe version of his April project Withered.

D4vd’s most recent Instagram post promoted the album’s expansion on September 7, coinciding with what would have been the 15th birthday of the victim, Celeste Rivas. The teenager was found mutilated inside the vehicle earlier this month.

Police searched the Los Angeles residence where the singer had been staying on Wednesday night, looking for evidence, including traces of blood. The Tesla linked to the crime had reportedly been parked nearby. Authorities have not disclosed whether D4vd is considered a suspect, and the artist himself has yet to issue a public statement.

The fallout has already disrupted his touring schedule. A Seattle performance planned for Wednesday, September 17, was cancelled after authorities confirmed the victim’s identity. TMZ also obtained images and videos showing D4vd had interacted with Rivas in the past. Her mother told the outlet that her daughter said she was dating someone named David.

Despite the controversy, his show at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre this Saturday is still scheduled to go ahead, though uncertainty surrounds a planned stop in San Francisco on Friday, with tickets still being sold as of Thursday, September 18.
