Loving someone who is hurting you is the highest form of self sabotage - Woman writes after accusing her husband of domestic abuse

A Kenyan woman, Nyambura Mburu, who accused her husband of domestic abuse has advised people to stop loving those who hurt them, saying that it’s self sabotage.

She gave the advice in a post on her Instagram story on Sunday, September 14,

“Loving someone who is hurting you is the highest form of self sabotage. Don’t do it,” she captioned the post.

Recall that in a series post on her Instagram stories on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Nyambura detailed the domestic abuse she endured throughout her 13-year marriage.

She shared graphic photos of the bruises she had sustained and recounted the horrific abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her husband, a film and video director.

She also detailed the physical and emotional toll the alleged abuse took on her for over a decade.

According to Nyambura, she was allegedly beaten with electric cables, belts, TV and hangers, all while hiding her pain behind a smile for years.

She also accused her husband of constant cheating and dishonoring of their marriage.
