American actress, Ego Nwodim, of Nigerian descent, has announced her departure from Saturday Night Live (SNL) after seven seasons.
She shared the news on Instagram, expressing gratitude to Lorne Michaels, her castmates, writers and crew for their brilliance, support and friendship.

According to Ego Nwodim, the stage taught her more than she ever could have imagined, and the memories will remain with her forever.
“Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could ever have imagined and I will carry those memories with me always”,The post stated.

Her departure comes ahead of the show’s 51st season, which premieres on October 4, 2025 .
Recall that Nwodim joined SNL in 2018 as a featured player and was promoted to repertory status in 2020.
While the circumstances surrounding Nwodim’s exit weren’t disclosed, her departure has come as a shock to fans.
Saturday Night Live (SNL) is a long-running sketch comedy and variety show known for its live sketches, parodies, and celebrity guest hosts.
