Actress Nina Dobrev and Shaun White end their engagement and split after 5 years

Actress, Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have reportedly called off their engagement and split after five years together. 

The Vampire Dairy star  got engaged to the professional snowboarder and skateboarder just months ago after years of dating but they have now decided to go their separate ways. 

“It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,” a source close to the pair told People Thursday, September 11. 

Dobrev notably walked the red carpet at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday without her engagement ring. 

She also unpinned her photos from their engagement from her Instagram account. 

The couple confirmed that they were engaged in October 2024. 

“She said YES” White captioned an Instagram post at the time. 

Dobrev also shared in the celebration by posting images from their engagement, writing, “RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé.” 

White popped the question by presenting Dobrev with a stunning 5-carat diamond ring from Lorraine Schwartz. He got down on one knee in front of a room full of flowers inside New York City hotspot The Golden Swan. 

The duo went public with their love in April 2020, though they met a year prior at an event for motivational speaker Tony Robbins, where they were both scheduled to present.
