Veteran juju music icon Ebenezer Obey has debunked rumours circulating about his death and claims that he suffered a stroke, describing them as “lies from the kingdom of darkness.”
In a video shared on Instagram, the 82-year-old legend appeared alongside his two sons, joyfully singing to reassure fans of his good health. The clip was captioned: “Stop the rumours!!!! Ebenezer Obey is alive and well.”
Addressing the false reports, Obey clarified that he had only travelled to London for personal care. He expressed disappointment over the spread of fake news, noting that some even went as far as sharing fabricated images of coffins to back up the claims.
“Everything they have said is nothing but lies that came from the kingdom of darkness. I am alive, I am alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you very much. I don’t have a stroke. I came to London to look after myself,” he affirmed.
This is not the first time the music legend has had to put rumours about his health to rest. Similar reports circulated in 2020 and resurfaced earlier this year, sparking unnecessary concern among fans.
The new video has since drawn relief and joy from admirers, who flooded his comment section with prayers and words of encouragement.
