Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has dismissed reports suggesting he is seeking reconciliation with his estranged wife, Mabel Makun.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, AY described the rumours as “false, incessant, and insensitive,” stressing that they were deliberately manipulative and aimed at misleading the public for traffic and engagement.
He clarified that he has never made or authorised any such statements, warning that if he has anything personal to communicate, he has the platform, reach, and credibility to do so directly, not through “faceless blogs and rumour-driven platforms.”
Issuing what he termed a final warning, AY urged the public to disregard the stories and announced that legal action would be taken against individuals or platforms that continue to publish or promote defamatory content about his private life.
“Enough of the lies,” the comedian declared, emphasising that he would no longer tolerate the spread of false narratives about his relationship status.
It is worth noting that AY confirmed the end of his almost 20-year relationship with Mabel in 2023, expressing regret for losing his home, and also admitted to doing things that were compromising during the marriage.
