
A man who was caught on camera brutally beating a woman has been arrested by Law Enforcement Officers in Lang’ata, Kenya.
The incident happened during an event on August 9, 2025.
The suspect, Benard Kipkosgei, aka Pavilion Motiriot, was nabbed after footage of him pummelling and kicking a defenceless woman at Carnivore Grounds, exploded online, sparking national outrage.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, August 12.
In the violent rampage, the woman lost Sh30,000, her mobile phone, and other valuables,” the statement read.
Social media lit up with fury demanding justice.
Responding swiftly, officers trailed and arrested the suspect.
He was arraigned on August 11, 2025, where he faced assault and robbery with violence charges.
Motiriot pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the matter has been scheduled for mention on August 18, 2025.
