A Nigerian doctor, Zainab Suleiman Buhari, has recalled when a elderly patient burst into tears, accusing her of eating his food.
Zainab, who shared the story on Friday, August 1, said even though she bought another food for him, he continued to refer her to her as the doctor who ate his food.
“During my house job in 2022, I had this elderly patient. During pre-rounds, I shifted his plate of food so I could take his vitals. But Baba started crying and telling everyone that I ate his food. So I started crying. One of the nurses was like, “This old people can behave funny like that.” For peace to reign, I got him another rice with meat. Walahi, this man still, if I pass, he will say, Look at the doctor that ate my food,” she wrote.
