Lagos state govt seals Lekki club over Noise pollution

The Lagos State Government has shut down the popular Light House Club on Admiralty Way, Lekki, for repeatedly ignoring noise pollution warnings.

The State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who made this known, said a joint enforcement team from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency stormed the facility on Monday, July 21, and sealed it off

He wrote

“Our joint enforcement team from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial (KAI) and Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency @LasepaOfficial  (LASEPA) took decisive action against Light House Club located on Admiralty Way in Lekki.

The establishment was sealed for violating Lagos State noise pollution regulations, following multiple warnings that were disregarded by the management.”

He emphasised that the closure, which began Monday morning, would only be lifted upon fulfillment of strict compliance requirements.

“This includes implementing proper soundproofing measures, and LASEPA confirming their adherence to approved noise levels,” the Commissioner stated
