Former member of the South Korean boy band NCT, Moon Taeli has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months’ imprisonment for sexual assault.
Taeil was indicted on charges of aggravated rape and pleaded guilty to the crimes, resulting in the jail sentence on July 10, 2025.
In addition to the jail sentence, the court ordered 40 hours of educational programming related to sexual violence.
The court also required Taeil to register as a sexual offender in his neighborhood.
Additionally, he’s banned from working with children and youths for the next five years.
It’s worth noting that Taeil gained popularity for his powerful vocals and broke the Guinness World Record for “Fastest time to reach 1 million followers on Instagram” in 2021.
However, his career was cut short after he was accused of raping an intoxicated Chinese tourist in June 2024.
