Diddy’s attorneys are requesting that the music mogul be released immediately while he awaits sentencing. This comes shortly after jurors found Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in pr0stitution on Wednesday, July 2. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, proposed to the court that Combs be released Wednesday on bond to live at his Florida home. He faces 10 years in prison for each count. “Is your proposal that Mr. Combs leave the courtroom and walk outside,” Judge Arun Subramanian asked. “That is my proposal,” replied Agnifilo. Subramanian asked both prosecutors and the defense to submit letters by 1 p.m., after which he would consider their positions and make a decision on Combs’ immediate fate. Combs has been incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest by federal authorities in September 2024. Earlier on Wednesday, the jury, which began deliberations on Monday, June 30, found Combs not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sx trafficking charges. Over the course of the trial, prosecutors called 34 witnesses across the span of 29 days of testimony. The government’s case hinged on portraying Combs as the leader of an expansive business empire that he used to commit several crimes, while also alleging that he forced or coerced women into performing highly orchestrated sx acts with male sx workers. Dozens of witnesses testified, including law enforcement officers and celebrities like rapper Kid Cudi and singer Dawn Richard. But the two witnesses who spent the most time on the stand were two of Combs’ exes, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a woman who testified under the pseudonym “Jane.” Both women spent several days testifying and recounted the sxual encounters, known as both “Freak Offs” and “Hotel Nights.” Ventura also alleged that Combs r@ped her near the end of their 11-year relationship. Defense attorneys did not call any witnesses and during cross-examination attempted to portray the sexual encounters as consensual and argued that there was no evidence of a racketeering conspiracy. Combs, who now sports gray hair, still faces several civil suits accusing him of sxual misconduct. He has consistently maintained that the allegations are false.
