One k!lled, two injured as suspected herdsmen attack Tiv settlement in Kogi (video)

At least one person was k!lled while two others were injured following an armed attack on a TIV community in Ogwutu village, Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 when unidentified armed men invaded the TIV settlement along Iyade Road, shooting sporadically and setting houses ablaze. 

“One Yega Hosamo, male, aged 35, was shot and k!lled during the attack. Two women – Veronica Jacob Alakashe and Nguvelen Kaase – sustained gunshot wounds to the arm and lower body, respectively,” said the sources. 

He added that the injured victims were taken to Ochala Memorial Clinic, Abejukolo, for medical treatment. 

“The deceased’s body has been evacuated to the General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy while investigation has commenced to apprehend the perpetrators.”
