The Defence Headquarters has confirmed that troops of the Mobile Strike Team (MST) under Operation Fasin Yamma (OPFY) neutralized several terrorists during a major offensive conducted on June 10, 2025, around Ƙunchin Kalgo town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to a statement released on Thursday, June 12, by Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, the offensive resulted in the deaths of notorious terrorist figures including Auta, Abdul Jamilu, and Salisu. These individuals had reportedly been involved in a series of violent attacks and acts of terrorism within the region.

“This operation marks a significant blow to criminal elements destabilizing peace and security in the region,” Kangye said, highlighting the impact of the offensive on regional stability.

Preliminary intelligence gathered from the operation also indicates that two additional terrorist kingpins, one of whom has been identified as Babayé, were eliminated in the process.

In a separate but related development, Sale Ado Madele, also known as Sarki and the eldest son of the notorious bandit leader Ado Alieru, was reportedly killed. The military also confirmed the elimination of ten terrorists who had gathered near a filling station in Danjibga. These individuals were believed to be part of a syndicate organized by Dogo Sule, allegedly preparing for an attack.

The Nigerian Armed Forces reiterated their determination to rid Zamfara and the wider North-West region of criminal elements and restore long-term peace.

“This operation underscores our resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and bring perpetrators of violence to justice,” the statement concluded.
