A yet to be identified young woman was rescued after she attempted to commit su!cide along the waterside axis of Okpulo Umuobo in Aba, Abia State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman attempted to take her life by jumping into the river when she was spotted by concerned passersby who quickly intervened.
No explanation was given by the woman for such drastic action as she was seen lying on a pavement at the river bank.
Spokesperson of Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed that the incident was reported to the nearest police station by Enyimba FM.
“Enyimba FM reported to the nearest police station, who assisted in her rescue,” the PPRO added.
