Troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a have neutralised three suspected armed robbers during an operation to recover weapons in Kaduna State.

Intelligence sources told security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 that the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday during a follow-up operation based on the confession of arrested suspects.

According to the sources, the three suspects had earlier been arrested in connection with a series of armed robbery attacks and were assisting troops in investigations.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to possessing arms and ammunition hidden in a forested location and offered to lead troops to the hideout.

However, while en route to the location, the suspects allegedly attempted to escape by attacking a soldier and trying to snatch his weapon.

Troops responded immediately, neutralising all three suspects in the process.

“The quick response of the troops averted a potential escape and ensured the safety of the escorting team,” the source added.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to rid Kaduna and surrounding areas of criminal elements.
