The suspension was reportedly linked to the public outcry following the extravagant 60th birthday party of his wife, Siji Iluyomade, which took place shortly after the death of Herbert Wigwe, a prominent member of the church.
Pastor Iluyomade was suspended by the Governing Council of the church over the weekend, with his suspension set to run for three months. During this period, a panel has been set up to investigate some of the allegations against him and the City of David parish.
