Another 24 crew members on a livestock carrier docked in Fremantle have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The new cases come after one staff member on the Al Messilah tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

They were taken off the boat and are now in hotel quarantine under supervision, while the 24 new infections remain on the vessel.

There are 52 staff on the Al Messilah, with WA Premier Mark McGowan saying more positive cases could come from staff on the boat.

No livestock are on the boat.

The new cases range between 20 and 62-years-old and are from several different countries.

More to come.
