Baseball star Curt Schilling has claimed his insurance policy has been canceled by AIG after the Donald Trump fan tweeted in support of the Capitol rioters.

The Red Sox legend tweeted: ‘We will be just fine, but wanted to let Americans know that @AIGinsurance canceled our insurance due to my “Social Media profile”.’

Schilling – who goes by ‘President Elect Curt Schilling’ on Twitter – had last week shared his thoughts on the siege at the Capitol, saying the rioters started ‘confrontation for sh*t that matters’.

He tweeted: ‘You cowards sat on your hands, did nothing while liberal trash looted rioted and burned for air Jordan’s and big screens, sit back, stfu, and watch folks start a confrontation for s**t that matters like rights, democracy and the end of govt corruption. #itshappening.’

After some followers questioned his claims about AIG Tuesday, Schilling replied with a screenshot of his alleged correspondence with the company. He later said he was a ‘AAA customer with zero claims in our 17 years with them’.

The screenshot read in part that canceling Schilling’s insurance plan was ‘a management decision that was made collectively between underwriting and marketing teams that could not be overturned.’

Repeating false claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged Schilling wrote: ‘Cut out personal information and kept the relevant part readable. But ya, it’s real and I don’t imagine it’s even close to what we will witness in the coming months, years, if we let the Nazi’s win and the fraud is allowed to stand.’

Schilling later added: ‘PLEASE understand that this is and will in no way be a ‘one off’. This is the coming storm, this is the ‘future’ of the nation if we allow Demokkkrats the power they fraudulently came into. At their core, this is exactly who they are. Power and control, then FU.’

DailyMail.com has contacted AIG for comment on the claims.

Schilling, a well known Trump fan, has spent his post-playing career developing a conservative persona. He opposes same-sex marriage and has hinted at getting into politics for years. He has also contributed to Breitbart and hosted a show for the right-wing news outlet.

In August 2019, Trump even advocated for Schilling to run for Congress, although the former baseball player eventually decided against it.

Schilling frequently tweets about conservative causes, also tweeting about the Georgia runoff last week.

He is currently up for baseball’s Hall of Fame after helping the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004 and 2007.

AIG said Wednesday that it was ‘suspending its limited PAC (Political action committee) activity for the foreseeable future’.

They said: ‘We were appalled by the acts of violence in the Capitol last week and attempts to interfere with the constitutionally mandated counting of electoral votes, by both the insurgents and elected officials.

‘This blatant disregard for the rule of law and flagrant attempt to derail the democratic process in the U.S. must be treated with the seriousness it deserves. The failures in leadership, including the Federal government’s tempered response to those who stormed the Capitol last week, as compared to its extensive preparation for and aggressive treatment of peaceful protesters in D.C. last June, is equally troubling.

‘AIG has suspended its limited PAC activity for the foreseeable future. Management also intends to review AIG’s relationships with trade associations to ensure their respective policies are aligned with AIG’s values.’

Schilling has previously displayed a collection of World War II memorabilia to Boston.com, which included Nazi memorabilia.

In 2015, he shared a meme to his Twitter account that compared Muslims to Nazis, the first of multiple times he posted Islamophobic content on social media.

That same year, Schilling tweeted that ISIS was winning the Democratic Debate.

And in April 2016, Schilling posted an anti-transgender meme, which resulted in his firing from ESPN.

Schilling clapped back a week later, saying ESPN employed ‘some of the biggest racists in sports commentating.’

Trump was on Wednesday impeached by the U.S. House for a historic second time, charged with ‘incitement of insurrection’ over the deadly mob siege of the U.S. Capitol in a swift and stunning collapse of his final days in office.

Ten Republicans fled Trump, joining Democrats who said he needed to be held accountable and warned ominously of a ‘clear and present danger’ if Congress should leave him unchecked before Democrat Joe Biden’s inauguration Jan. 20.

Trump is the only U.S. president to be twice impeached. It was the most bipartisan presidential impeachment in modern times, more so than against Bill Clinton in 1998.

A Capitol Police officer died from injuries suffered in the riot, and police shot and killed a woman during the siege. Three other people died in what authorities said were medical emergencies. The riot delayed the tally of Electoral College votes that was the last step in finalizing Biden’s victory.

The impeachment bill draws from Trump’s own false statements about his election defeat to Biden.

Judges across the country, including some nominated by Trump, have repeatedly dismissed cases challenging the election results, and former Attorney General William Barr, a Trump ally, has said there was no sign of widespread fraud.
